Ray Komorowski has been in the Marsh Marine Cargo Department for 19 years.
He began his insurance career in 1973 when he was appointed Lloyd's Agent in Monrovia, Liberia where he was responsible for cargo surveys and claims adjustment on behalf of Lloyds and London Companies in many West African countries.
Following his return to the United States in 1978, he was employed by Farrell Lines as West African Traffic Manager, and subsequently at Johnson and Higgins as a senior Cargo Claims adjuster.
He was a Marine Cargo Broker with Alexander and Alexander prior to serving as Director - The Japan Service Group.
Ray teaches the Continuing Education Course in Cargo Insurance at Marsh, and has been an Adjunct Professor at the College of Insurance of St. John’s University in New York City where he taught the Marine Cargo course.
He has lectured before both local and national RIMS conferences on Marine Insurance.
He was named a Power Broker in Marine Insurance by ‘Risk and Insurance’ magazine in 2009.
He has a BA from Rutgers University and has attended courses at the College of Insurance and the Université de Tours in France.
